Andrew, thank you very much for this thoughtful reflection of your last 10 years in all of the important aspects of life. Funny enough, I said basically the same thing to my mom just yesterday as I felt stressed about a new job move and how to build wealth with missed opportunities (in 2009 I just started high school and had zero money and knowledge) when starting with a low base.

So much of what you wrote echoes my current feelings/lifestyle at the same age, so I’m taking this as a good guiding post and lesson. Also a lot of comfort to gleam from this (absolutely love what your wife said).

I think I would have wanted to simply jumpstart saving/investing a lot faster. Less time and money spent on trivial things, and more on building wealth. Thinking about side hustles and what I can learn, do, and provide, instead of bemoaning the set amount of salary (my family and by extension, me) and feeling stuck as a result. And guts. Have guts to pursue things and fail. Wanted to go buy tech stocks back when it was dirt cheap.

I’m older and hopefully wiser now, so we’ll see what the next 10 years hold for me. By then, I think I’ll be around your age now, so it will really be interesting to consider what kind of reflection I would have at that point.

Happy 10 years!
